Crash Games and Aviator: How They Work and Real Odds
Crash games are casino games in which a multiplier rises from 1.00x until it “crashes” at a random point, and you win only if you cash out before it does.
The best known is Spribe’s Aviator game, in which a plane flies off with the multiplier; others include JetX, Spaceman and instant games such as Chicken Road, Plinko and Mines. Aviator returns 97% to players on average, so the house keeps about 3% of every bet whatever cash-out target you choose. In the UAE, the only licensed online casino, Play971, has one game in its Crash category.
A crash round lasts a few seconds and looks like a test of nerve: hold on for a bigger multiplier, or take the money now. The maths behind it is simpler than it looks, and it explains why no strategy, “predictor” app or signal channel can beat it. This guide explains how a round works, the exact odds of reaching each multiplier, how provably fair rounds can be checked, the main crash and instant games and their RTPs, the scams that target Aviator players, and where crash games stand under UAE law. Best Online Casinos for Crash Games in Dubai in 2026
These are the casinos we rate. The crash games each one offers — and the RTP setting they run — vary by operator, so check a game’s info screen before you play. Play971, at the top, is the only one licensed by the UAE’s GCGRA; the others are licensed abroad. See the real odds of each multiplier before you choose.

What Is a Crash Game?
A crash game is a multiplayer betting game built around a single number. When a round starts, a multiplier begins at 1.00x and climbs — slowly at first, then faster. At some random moment it stops: the plane flies away, the rocket explodes, the astronaut comes to a stop. Every player who cashed out before that moment wins their stake times the multiplier at which they cashed out; everyone still in loses their stake.
Crash games began on Bitcoin gambling sites in the mid-2010s, which is why they are still strongly linked with crypto casinos. Spribe, the studio behind Aviator, says on its own game page that Aviator “became popular in crypto casinos” and that it was among the first to bring the format to regular online casinos. Today almost every large game studio has at least one crash title, and many casinos give them their own lobby category, often called “Crash”, “Instant” or “Originals”.
How to Play a Crash Game
01
Place your bet during the short betting window before the round. Many games let you place two bets at once; JetX’s latest version allows four.
02
Set an auto cash-out if you want one — for example 1.50x — so the game cashes out for you when the multiplier reaches it.
03
Watch the multiplier rise from 1.00x. The longer it runs, the higher the possible win.
04
Cash out by pressing the button before the crash. Your win is your stake times the multiplier at that moment.
05
If the crash comes first, the bet is lost. Some rounds crash almost immediately.
06
Check the round afterwards in the game history; in provably fair games you can verify that the result was fixed in advance.

Aviator: The Best-Known Crash Game
The Aviator game is made by Spribe, a studio licensed in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission. A red plane takes off and the multiplier climbs until it flies away. Spribe lists it as a “Mini Game” with a return to player of 97%, playable on desktop, tablet and mobile, and built to run on budget phones and slow connections.
What sets Aviator apart is its social layer, which Spribe describes on its game page:
- Live bets — you see what other players are betting and when they cash out.
- In-game chat — a chat room alongside the game.
- Live statistics — the biggest wins and multipliers as daily, monthly and all-time leaderboards.
- Free bets and “Rain” — casinos can hand out free bets, and the Rain feature drops free bets into the chat for any player to claim.
- Provably fair — each round’s result can be checked after it ends.
Seeing other players cash out at big multipliers is part of the appeal, but it is also part of the risk: it makes waiting for “just a little more” feel normal. The leaderboard shows the winners, never the far larger number of players who lost on the same rounds.

Crash Game Odds: The Probability Table
In a crash game with an RTP of 97%, the chance that the multiplier reaches any target m before crashing is 0.97 ÷ m. That simple rule — used by Spribe-style games and explained by independent analysts such as PrimeDope — gives this table for Aviator:
| Cash-out target | Chance of reaching it | Win on AED 10 | Average result per AED 10 bet |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.20x | 80.83% | AED 2 profit | −AED 0.30 |
| 1.50x | 64.67% | AED 5 profit | −AED 0.30 |
| 2x | 48.50% | AED 10 profit | −AED 0.30 |
| 3x | 32.33% | AED 20 profit | −AED 0.30 |
| 5x | 19.40% | AED 40 profit | −AED 0.30 |
| 10x | 9.70% | AED 90 profit | −AED 0.30 |
| 20x | 4.85% | AED 190 profit | −AED 0.30 |
| 50x | 1.94% | AED 480 profit | −AED 0.30 |
| 100x | 0.97% | AED 990 profit | −AED 0.30 |
Our calculation from Spribe’s published RTP of 97%. Results in any session vary widely.
The last column is the key point: whichever target you choose, you lose on average 3% of every bet. A low target wins often but pays little; a high target pays a lot but rarely. Choosing a target changes how bumpy your session is, not how much it costs.

The House Edge in Crash Games
The house edge is the share of each bet the casino keeps on average — 100% minus the RTP. For Aviator it is 3%. That is higher than the best bets in table games — the Banker bet in baccarat costs 1.06%, and blackjack with basic strategy around 0.5% — but similar to or lower than most slots. Because a round takes only a few seconds, though, you can place far more bets per hour, so the cost per hour can be higher than in slower games even at the same edge.
| One hour at AED 10 per round | Aviator (97% RTP) | Chicken Road (98% RTP) | Spaceman (95% RTP) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rounds played (about one every 20 seconds) | 180 | 180 | 180 |
| Total wagered | AED 1,800 | AED 1,800 | AED 1,800 |
| Expected loss | About AED 54 | About AED 36 | About AED 90 |
Our illustration. Expected loss = total wagered × (100% − RTP). The pace is an assumption; real rounds vary.
The hour costs the same AED 1,800 in stakes in every game; the RTP alone decides whether you should expect to lose AED 36 or AED 90 of it.
Provably Fair: How to Check a Round
Many crash games, including Aviator, are “provably fair”. The idea is that the result of a round is fixed before anyone bets, and you can check afterwards that it was not changed:
- Before the round, the game creates a secret server seed and shows you only its hash — a fingerprint that cannot be reversed.
- Seeds from the first players to bet in the round are combined with the server seed.
- The combined value is turned into the crash multiplier by a published formula.
- After the round, the server seed is revealed. Hashing it yourself and getting the same fingerprint proves it was not swapped mid-round.
Provably fair proves that a round was not manipulated after bets were placed. It does not mean the game is in your favour: the formula still builds in the house edge. And it only works if you actually check, using the game’s own verification tool or an independent hash calculator.

Crash Game Strategy: What Works and What Doesn’t
No strategy changes the average return of a crash game. What you can control is how your session feels and how long your money lasts:
- Low auto cash-out (1.2x–1.5x) — frequent small wins; you still lose about one round in five at 1.2x and one in three at 1.5x, and one crash wipes out several wins.
- Middle targets (2x–3x) — you win about half the rounds at 2x and a third at 3x, with medium swings.
- High targets (10x and above) — long losing runs, occasional big wins; the session can end quickly.
- Two bets — one with a low auto cash-out and one left to run. It mixes the two profiles, but you are simply making two bets, each with the same 3% edge.
- Always use auto cash-out — it removes the temptation to wait “one more second”, and protects you if your connection drops.
What does not work: Martingale (doubling after each loss), waiting for “a big one is due” after a run of low crashes, or copying players who just won. Each round’s crash point is independent of the last one; the history panel shows the past and nothing else.

Aviator Predictor Apps, Signals and Hacks
“Aviator predictor” is searched more often in the UAE than “crash games” itself. Everything sold under that name is a scam:
- Predictor apps and bots claim to forecast the next crash point. If the game is provably fair, the next result depends on a server seed that is secret until the round ends; nobody can calculate it in advance.
- Signal channels on Telegram or WhatsApp post “next round 2.5x”. With 0.97 ÷ m odds, a channel posting low targets will be “right” most of the time by chance, and screenshots of the hits make it look reliable.
- “Hack” or “mod” APKs are often malware that steals login details, cards or crypto wallets.
- Paid “VIP” access is how the scheme makes money: the seller earns from you, not from the game.
Some of these channels also push players towards unlicensed casinos. Never install an app that claims to predict a game, and never share casino logins or payment details with anyone.

Popular Crash Games Compared
| Game | Studio | Theme | RTP | Notable features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aviator | Spribe | A plane flies until it flies away | 97% | Two bets, live bets, chat, Rain free bets, provably fair |
| Spaceman | Pragmatic Play | An astronaut flies past planets | 95% | Auto cash-out and 50% auto cash-out, statistics, leaderboards |
| JetX | SmartSoft Gaming | A jet climbs until it explodes | 96.2%–98.9% | Up to four bets at once; RTP depends on the casino’s settings and is highest at the lowest cash-out |
Aviator and Spaceman: each studio’s official game page. JetX: the rules screen of SmartSoft’s official demo, version 2.2.0.0. All checked on 21 October 2026. Some casinos run games at a different RTP setting; the figure in the game’s own help screen is the one that applies.
JetX is the one game here whose return depends on how you play: SmartSoft’s rules say the RTP ranges from 96.2% to 98.9% depending on the game’s configuration, and that the highest figure is reached by cashing out at the lowest available multiplier. If a round reaches JetX’s maximum multiplier of 25,000x, bets still running are cashed out automatically, subject to the casino’s maximum-win cap.
Spaceman’s 50% auto cash-out lets you take half your bet off the table at one multiplier and leave the other half to run — a built-in version of the two-bet approach.

Crash-Style Instant Games: Chicken Road, Plinko and Mines
Close relatives of crash games are “instant” or “mini” games in which you raise your risk step by step and can cash out at any point. They are often listed alongside crash games:
| Game | Studio | How it works | RTP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chicken Road | InOut Games | Guide a chicken across lanes; each step raises the multiplier until you cash out or it gets “fried”. Four difficulty levels: easy, medium, hard and hardcore | 98% |
| Chicken Road 2.0 | InOut Games | The sequel, released on 15 April 2025 | 95.5% |
| Plinko | Spribe | A ball drops through pegs into a prize slot; you choose the risk level | 97% |
| Mines | Spribe | Open tiles on a grid, avoiding hidden mines; each safe tile raises the win and you can cash out after any of them | 97% |
RTPs from InOut Games and Spribe’s official game pages, 21 October 2026. Chicken Road was released on 4 April 2024.
Chicken Road’s 98% is among the highest returns in this category, but the higher difficulty levels are far more volatile: the chance of losing the whole stake before a big multiplier is much greater.

Crash Games vs Slots and Table Games
| Game | Typical house edge | Round length | Player decisions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blackjack, basic strategy | 0.4%–0.6% | About a minute live | Many |
| Baccarat — Banker | 1.06% | About 25–50 seconds live | None after betting |
| European roulette | 2.70% | About a minute live | None after betting |
| Aviator | 3% | Seconds | When to cash out |
| Slots | Typically 3%–6% | A few seconds | None |
| Spaceman | 5% | Seconds | When to cash out |
Crash games feel more skilful than slots because you decide when to cash out, but that decision does not change the edge. Our casino games guide compares every category, and the roulette guide covers the table game most often played alongside crash games.

Crash Games and Crypto Casinos
Crash games grew up on crypto casinos, and many of those sites still promote their own “originals” with provably fair crash, dice and limbo games. Crypto does not change the legal position: a crypto casino that is not licensed by the GCGRA is unlicensed in the UAE, whatever currency it uses. Our crypto casinos guide explains the risks in detail, including the lack of any UAE recourse if a site refuses to pay.
The crypto casino brands most searched from the UAE hold licences from Curaçao or Anjouan, and their terms let them ask for identity documents before paying a withdrawal — so “no KYC” usually means “KYC later”.
Crash Games on Play971
Play971, run by Coin Technology Projects LLC, is the only online casino licensed by the UAE’s federal regulator, the GCGRA. When we opened its lobby from the UAE on 21 October 2026, the Crash category held a single game, Archer, which is also one of the six titles in the Originals category. Play971 describes Archer as “a fantasy-themed online casino game where precision matters”, in which players aim and shoot to trigger multipliers and bonus features — “a skill-inspired slot experience” rather than a classic rising-multiplier crash game. Its demo is only available after logging in. The other five Originals are instant games: Wheel of Fortune, Keno Rush, Pawsome Plinko, Mini Lootbox and Mini Mines; a search also found Mini Plinko. Searches for Aviator, JetX, Spaceman and Chicken Road returned no results.
Play is in dirhams, you must be 21 or over and physically in the UAE, and accounts are verified with an Emirates ID. When we opened the Crash category, Play971 asked for location services to be turned on, to check that the player is in a permitted location. Before you play any of its instant games, open the info screen to see the RTP and the maximum win.

Is Aviator Legal in the UAE?
Only if you play it on a GCGRA-licensed site, and on 21 October 2026 the only one, Play971, did not list Aviator. Gambling in the UAE is legal only through GCGRA-licensed operators. Playing Aviator or any other crash game for money at an offshore casino — including those licensed in Curaçao, Malta or Anjouan, and crypto casinos — is unlicensed gambling under UAE law: Article 461 of the Crimes and Penalties Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021) punishes whoever gambles with up to two years in prison or a fine of up to AED 50,000. Free demo versions with no cash prizes are a different matter. Our UAE gambling laws guide explains the full picture.
How to Choose a Crash Game
01
Check the RTP in the game’s info screen — 97% and above is good for the category; 95% costs noticeably more.
02
Look for auto cash-out, and ideally a partial cash-out such as Spaceman’s 50% option.
03
Prefer provably fair games, and learn how to check a round.
04
Check the minimum bet and maximum win, so you know the limits before you start.
05
Play the demo first to get used to the speed without risking money.
06
Play only at a licensed site — in the UAE, that means Play971.
Common Crash Game Mistakes
- Cashing out by hand instead of setting an auto cash-out.
- Chasing losses by doubling the next bet.
- Believing a high multiplier is “due” after a run of early crashes.
- Paying for predictor apps or signals.
- Playing too many rounds — at a few seconds each, an hour can mean nearly 200 bets.
- Using bonus money without checking whether crash games count towards wagering — some casinos exclude them or count them at a reduced rate. See our bonuses guide.
Crash Games on Mobile
Crash games suit phones well: one bet button, one cash-out button and very small data use. Spribe says Aviator is built to run on budget devices and in low-bandwidth conditions. On a phone, a dropped connection mid-round is the main risk — another reason to set an auto cash-out. Play971 has no app; it runs in the browser at play971.ae. Our casino apps guide explains the difference between apps and mobile sites.
Because Play971 must confirm that you are in the UAE, it checks your location on mobile too: its help centre tells Android users to give the browser permission for precise location, and its games will not open with location services switched off. Any download that calls itself the “Play971 app” does not come from the operator.

Play Responsibly
Crash games are among the fastest games in a casino: rounds last seconds, the next one starts at once, and watching others cash out big makes it easy to keep going. Decide your budget in dirhams before you start, set an auto cash-out on every bet, take breaks between sessions, and stop when the budget is gone. Never chase losses, and never pay anyone who claims to predict the game. If gambling is no longer fun, confidential help is available from BeGambleAware.
FAQ
- What is a crash game?
A game in which a multiplier rises from 1.00x until it crashes at a random point. You win your stake times the multiplier if you cash out before the crash, and lose your stake if you don’t.
- Is Aviator legal in the UAE?
Only at a GCGRA-licensed site. On 21 October 2026, Play971 — the only licensed online casino — did not list Aviator. Playing it for money at offshore casinos is unlicensed gambling.
- What is the RTP of the Aviator game?
97%, according to Spribe, so the house edge is about 3%.
- What are the chances of reaching 2x in Aviator?
48.5%. In general the chance of reaching a multiplier m is 0.97 ÷ m — 9.7% for 10x and 0.97% for 100x.
- Is there a winning strategy for crash games?
No. Your cash-out target changes how often you win and how much, but on average you lose the same 3% of every bet in Aviator.
- Do Aviator predictor apps work?
No. The next result depends on a secret server seed; predictor apps, signals and “hacks” are scams, and some are malware.
- What does provably fair mean?
The result is fixed before the round and published as a hash; after the round you can check the revealed seed matches. It proves the round wasn’t changed, not that you have an edge.
- Which crash game has the highest RTP?
JetX can reach 98.9%, but only at the lowest cash-out multipliers; its range is 96.2%–98.9%. Among fixed RTPs, Chicken Road is highest at 98%, followed by Aviator, Plinko and Mines at 97%. Spaceman’s official RTP is 95%.
- Does Play971 have crash games?
Its Crash category had one game, Archer — an archery-themed, skill-inspired game rather than a classic crash game — on 21 October 2026, alongside instant games such as Pawsome Plinko, Mini Plinko and Mini Mines.
- Are crash games better than slots?
Not necessarily. Aviator’s 3% edge is similar to or lower than many slots, but rounds are so fast that the cost per hour can be higher.
